In April 2025, Florianópolis hosted the inaugural edition of FEMINA, bringing together healthcare professionals, patients, NGOs, public authorities, and academic leaders to advance the breast cancer conversation in Brazil.
The opening day featured the Advocacy Program, with meaningful discussions on public policy, access to Brazil’s public healthcare system (SUS), patient leadership, and powerful personal stories. Talks by voices such as Lilian Ribeiro and Lise Guedes deeply moved attendees and reinforced the value of collective action and social engagement.
Over the following two days, the Scientific Program delivered dynamic expert panels focused on complex clinical cases, cancer genetics (oncogenetics), tumor subtypes, and treatment de-escalation strategies. Specialists from across Brazil contributed cutting-edge updates and high-level clinical insights.
The first edition of FEMINA successfully fulfilled its mission: uniting scientific excellence with compassion, strengthening a shared commitment to more human-centered, accessible, and evidence-based oncology care.
The II South Brazilian Forum on Studies and Innovations in Breast Oncology, organized by Grupo Baía Sul, will take place on March 5, 6, and 7, 2026, at Hotel Intercity Portofino Florianópolis (SC).
